How is this site started? On internet there are a lot of population data, but they are all spread on different pages, tables. We decide to built a user friendly website, where we collected this information into one simple-to-use and (we hope) interesting website. Although we do our best to provide correct information, but all data is provided "as is", no warranty is given. Please read our terms and conditions of use for more details.

A: The reason is that census.gov moved those pages. As alternative, archived page is linked too from web.archive site.

A: In 2020 and it will be the twenty-fourth United States Census.

Sources

Most important information on this site is historical population data. Census.gov provide historical (and many more) information, but settlement population data older than 1980 we have only in scanned or printed version of census. Those numbers are re-typed, so here few typing error may appear. Some of them are from other books with numbers rounded to thousands. Few missing data is from Wikipedia.
